Baby Boom

Topic of the Day: BABIES!!

I love getting presents for other people. Special occasions are my favorite! Baby events in particular!
It seems 2013 is year of the babies. Everyone seems to be having kids right, left, up and down.
One friend of mine had a baby shower for her second child. A wittle adorable cutiepie baby boy! Her first boy!
I found this adorable idea off of Pinterest. I think I did a pretty good job replicating it if I do say so myself. :)

Tah Dah!
I had to substitute a few ingredients which I didn't have. I didn't have white or brown sugar, only organic light.
I also didn't have a ribbon to put around. Oh well.. I think it still turned out pretty good. :)

I went shopping for the perfect presents to go with it! I love the pacifiers.
One says "pull to sound alarm" The other says "mute button".

A friend of mine at work was expecting her third child! A cute little baby girl. Aww.
My friend Christina and I wanted to do something special for her.
My mom gave an idea to wrap it all up in a box!

Instead of having tissue on the bottom it was loaded with diapers!
To give it that oomf popping out look! Turned out great!

A third friend most recently just had a baby shower as well. She loves baking, she's a beast at making fresh brownies!
I decided to make the baby bottle girl version for her! I didn't follow a recipe though, I put in what looked good.
Which was flour on the bottom, brown sugar 2nd, oatmeal 3rd, m&ms 4th and chocolate chips 5th.

A friend thought it would be a great idea to make favor sized jars as well.
I must say it was a splendid idea it came out looking really great!

The big one is for my friend.

It was quite a success. Everyone really loved them! :D
They were asking how they were made and how to make the cookies!
My older sister said it looked like they were store bought!
I'm like nope. This is all me right hereeee. Hehe.

Past Pets

I love animals. Always have and always will.

I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was younger. That dream faded quick though. My mother told me vets have to touch all animals. Including pigs. Yuck. And that have to go up animals butts. Double yuck. So that went out the window pretty fast.

My parents bought us many fish growing up. Different kinds. Pretty, ugly, small, big, etc. We had multiple goldfish in a huge tank one time. There were at least around twenty or so. Each day after I came home from school another one was floating belly up in the tank. After we buried half of them my mother got tired of digging graves and told my dad to get rid of them.

So we packed up the four-five goldfish left and drove over to the lake behind our house.
Threw them in the water and my dad told me that they'll be happy and free.

I would always ask my dad how the goldfish were and he would tell me they turned into goldfish monsters. I used to believe him too, haha. There was a news story that came out that said goldfish thrown in lakes grow into large goldfish, like koi sized. They have plenty of food and space to grow and they just keep growing eating everything. o_o

We also owned beta fish as well. I think we've had two or three?

My longest fish to last was Jade, a beta fish.

We actually got Jade from a friend of mine that got married.
She brought the fish in a beautiful plant vase.
He survived for more than a year.

My parents also bought us parakeets. I really liked having them honestly.
They made the house so vibrant and full of energy. Always chirping.

Milkyway is the grey, Kiwi is green,
Aqua is blue and Melon is the yellow.
Milky is the longest to survive. He had a friend named Mitoo.
Mitoo was pretty cool. He used to hover in the air like a hummingbird.
He passed away of old age. It was so sad to see him go.

We also had an all yellow bird named Banana.
We got her the same time as Aqua.
But she died too.

A Turkish Angora Calico.
This was my first kitten. I got her from an ad in the newspaper.

She had a lot of problems that my parents got tired of real quick.
When she arrived home we quickly realized she was sick.
We took her to the vet and had to buy medicine.
Then the vet told us she had fleas.
Then we found out she wasn't completely litter box trained.
That one didn't roll so good with my parents at all.
She would scoot her butt across the carpet.
And wipe her dirty little booty all over.
The last strike was when she fell off the deck and broke her leg.
That was a hefty price tag in and of itself. $300. o_o
She has a happy ending though, we gave her to a cat lady.
This lady had a clean home and owned around 26 cats and kittens.

My mom always promised me when we move I can get a cat.
We moved 6 months ago. I think it's time I get one.

I thought about the future in terms of my sister having kids now.
So far she's got one, my little three year old nephew.
My friends have two or three kids now.

So I wanted to get a breed of cat that is good with kids.
Of course it also has to do a lot with personality.
But in general which breed is the best.

I came across the Ragdoll.

They are beautiful cats. The traditional ones have vibrant blue eyes.
Very mellow kitties. I've seen videos of kids falling on them.

They never claw, bite, or act aggressively.
They are strictly indoor kittens unless supervised.

They are hefty in terms of price however.
A popular breed that is gaining fast attention.
They range around $600-$1200 per kitten as a pet.

I aim to get one!
